Accessibility statement

Swobbee wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or a reduced-motion setting. This page says where we stand, how we know, and what is still open.

Accessibility

The standard we are working to

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

Where we stand

This site was rebuilt from the ground up in September 2026. Accessibility was built into the markup rather than added on top: there is no accessibility overlay, no widget and no third-party script of any kind on this site.

As of 30 September 2026, across all pages of the site:

  • Automated testing with axe-core (WCAG 2.0 and 2.1, levels A and AA) at phone and desktop widths reports no violations.
  • Text contrast was measured against the colour actually rendered behind it, including over photographs and gradients. Nothing falls below the required ratio.
  • Every page reflows at 320 pixels without horizontal scrolling.
  • Interactive controls meet the 24 by 24 pixel target size required by WCAG 2.5.8, and form fields are at least 44 pixels high.
  • Every page carries a „skip to content“ link, a visible focus ring, and a language attribute.
  • Page zoom is not restricted.

What those numbers do not say

Automated testing finds roughly a third of accessibility problems. It cannot judge whether an image description actually describes the image, whether a tab order makes sense, or whether an error message is understandable. „No violations“ is not the same as „accessible“.

This is not a theoretical caveat. During the rebuild, five job listings turned out to be operable with a mouse only — a level A failure. No automated tool reported it; it was found by trying to use the page with a keyboard. It has been fixed.

Known limitations

  • The site has not yet been tested end to end with screen readers on real devices (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS). Automated checks and keyboard testing are not a substitute for that.
  • Some image descriptions describe what is in the photograph but not always its role in the surrounding text.
  • Documents linked from this site, such as PDFs, have not been assessed.

We list these because they are the honest state of things, not because we intend to leave them there.

Found a barrier? Tell us

If something on this site is not usable for you, please write to marketing@swobbee.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what got in the way — and, if you can, which browser and assistive technology you were using. We aim to reply within five working days.

If a barrier stops you from completing something, say so in the message. We will find another way to get it done for you while we fix the page.
